Chris Watson

CHRIS WATSON Is a sound recordist who specialises in documenting the sounds of animals and their habitats around the world. He was a member of both Cabaret Voltaire and The Hafler Trio in the seventies and eighties. He has worked for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds as well extensively in film, television and radio. From the middle of the nineties he began to release CDs based on pure environmental recordings on the Touch label. These albums [Stepping into the Dark, Outside the Circle of Fire and most recently Weather Report] have become touchstones in the world of field recording as examples of the sensitivity and passion needed to create these amazing recordings. When he isn’t travelling he lives near Newcastle in England.
